Jumbo Kinetic loads Damen tugs in Halong Bay
Jumbo Kinetic, a heavy lift vessel with a lifting capacity of 3,000 tons, recently completed a loading operation in the picturesque Halong Bay, Vietnam. The vessel loaded a total of seven tugs for Damen.
The vessel’s lifting capacity was put to good use as it lifted Damen’s newbuild tugs directly. Five of the tugs measured 24.74×13.1×15.95 metres and weighed 459 tonnes each. The remaining two units measured 24.74 x 13.10 x 16.45 metres and weighed 540 tonnes.
Under the supervision of the Damen Delivery department, each tug was carefully lifted onboard, placed in pre-arranged supports, and securely sea-fastened for its voyage to Antwerp, Belgium.
The vessel is sailing off South Africa’s oast, taking the safe route around the Cape of Good Hope.
