After 40 years in service, the Grand Old Lady Happy Buccaneer has reached the end of her operations. Built in 1984, the Happy Buccaneer was a pioneer from the start with her large, spacious deck and heavy lift cranes.

The technology, deck space, heavy-lift cranes and versatility of the Happy Buccaneer revolutionised the heavy-lift industry. The vessel soon established itself as one of the most versatile vessels in the heavy lift world.

During the 40 years of service, Happy Buccaneer sailed around the globe 135 times and completed 286 voyages. It also featured the very first Huisman heavy-lift cranes. Even now at the end of her service life, 98 per cent of the vessel’s pumps and all generators are still original.
