Total Movements has navigated a challenging project, transporting two massive Coke Drums weighing 454 metric tonnes and 444 metric tonnes from the western to the eastern coast of India.

The operation involved a complex logistical journey, as road routes were impassable for cargo of this size and weight. Total Movements opted for coastal shipping, chartering a super heavy lift vessel and converting it to an Indian-flagged vessel to meet regulatory requirements.

The oversized cargo, measuring 35.1 x 9.35 x 9.05 metres, required meticulous planning and coordination. Total Movements’ team executed seamless double banking operations at both the load and discharge ports, adhering to strict Marine Warranty Surveyor standards.

The cargo was loaded in Mumbai and shipped onboard the 25,240 dwt heavy lift vessel Cerulean to the port of Haldia. The cargo will be delivered to the Numaligarh Refinery project, which is undergoing an upgrade. Once completed, the facility’s refining capacity will be boosted from 3 MMTPA to 9 MMTPA.
