Trans Global Projects (TGP) has once again demonstrated its prowess in handling complex project cargo shipments. The company’s teams in São Paulo and Houston recently collaborated to transport two massive transformers from Brazil to the USA.

The company’s offices joined forces to move the two 206 metric ton transformers from Itaguaí, Brazil, to Norfolk, USA. This door-to-port delivery also included 72 smaller breakbulk items.

Furthermore, the company has secured another job for the same client. TGP has been contracted to handle a complex delivery of a further three 135-ton transformers with strict time limits for the on-carriage to the job site. By taking part in the project, TGP is supporting the energy transition push in the United States.

The Houston office has been busy recently with transformer deliveries. It cooperated with the Bremen office to deliver two 238-metric-tonne transformers for Pattern Energy’s SunZia Wind project in New Mexico, dubbed the largest wind energy project under construction in the Western Hemisphere.

TGP arranged the shipment of the two units from Europe to the USA by part-charter and the onward delivery by specialized train carriages to the job site. TGP’s work is expected to be complete in the second quarter of 2025 after delivering 38,000 freight tonnes of ancillary equipment and a further 15 transformers for the project.
