COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers have taken delivery and named its second 62,000-ton multipurpose (MPP) heavy lift vessel, MV Yuan Fu. This follows the earlier delivery of its sister ship, the Guang Fu.

The Yuan Fu boasts an overall length of 199.9 meters, a breadth of 32.26 meters, and a draft of 19.3 meters. The vessel features five box-shaped holds, allowing for flexible loading of various heavy equipment cargoes and containers. Equipped with two 150-ton and two 80-ton cranes, the Yuan Fu can efficiently handle diverse cargo types.

Designed with energy efficiency in mind, the Yuan Fu meets Tier III emission requirements for NOx. Additionally, it complies with the latest SOx emission standards, making it an environmentally friendly vessel.

The Yuan Fu will embark on its maiden voyage to South America, carrying wind power equipment for Goldwind’s project in Brazil.

The delivery of Yuan Fu marks a significant milestone for COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers, as it expands its fleet of MPP heavy lift vessels. The company now operates a fleet of over 60 multipurpose heavy lift vessels, covering a wide range of crane capacities.
