Ship operator and logistics company Longship has placed an order for a total of four vessels at the Dutch Ship and Steelbuilding (SaS) yard in Waterhuizen. The order includes an option for an additional four vessels.

According to Longship, the Pmax Eco Trader design is well suited to the company’s requirements for custom shipping solutions. Dutch design and engineering company, Groot Ship Design, was entrusted with developing the concept, naval architecture, hull construction design and production package for the vessels.

The 6,000 dwt vessels feature advanced eco-friendly technologies and have been designed with fuel efficiency in mind. The new Pmax Eco Trader vessels are set for delivery starting in early 2026.

Deliveries start for 8,600 dwt newbuilds

The order for the Pmax Eco Trader series of vessels follows just over a month after the company took delivery of Longera. It was the first in a series of four 8,600 dwt newbuilds ordered by the company at Atlas Shipyard.

“Its delivery marks the culmination of three years of research, development, and hard work and stands as a testament to the dedication of our exceptional team and our valued partners,” Longship said.

Similar to the newly ordered Pmax Eco Traders, Longera’s hull design and diesel-electric propulsion focus on reducing fuel consumption.
