Lubbers handles cable drums delivery for Prysmian
Lubbers Projects and Services, part of the Lubbers Logistics Group, has recently been busy moving project cargo for Prysmian. The logistics services company handled the transportation of massive cable drums from Prysmian’s factory in Delft, Netherlands to the Creos project site in Luxembourg.
So far, Lubbers delivered 45 drums and returned 18 empty drums back to the facility in Delft. In the coming months, Lubbers will transport an additional 36 drums to Luxembourg, with empty drums being returned to Delft.
The drums vary in size, with the largest measuring 4.2 metres in diameter, 3.5 metres in length and weighing 15 tons. The upcoming drums are even larger, measuring 4.2 metres in diameter, 4.6 metres in length and weighing 21 tons.
To ensure the safe and efficient transportation of these drums, Lubbers has developed two specialised systems in collaboration with TVAtec from Lemelerveld. Additionally, the company partnered in-house with its transport partners, Lubbers Road Transport, as well as, Dekker Transport Rijssen BV and De Groen Transport B.V.
