CLdN and Transfennica connect Zeebrugge services, enhance cargo capabilities

Shipping companies CLdN and Transfennica have formed a strategic partnership to connect their services in Zeebrugge, Belgium, providing customers with broader access across Northern and Western Europe.

This collaboration leverages Transfennica’s existing Northern Baltic service, operating between Antwerp and ports in Finland (Hanko, Kotka, Rauma) and Estonia (Paldiski). Transfennica vessels will call at CLdN’s Albert II terminal in Zeebrugge every other Thursday, facilitating the seamless exchange of northbound and southbound cargo.

The partnership significantly enhances cargo handling capabilities. The service will allow for the transhipment of a wide range of cargo types, including containers, tank containers, trailers, refrigerated containers (reefers), automotive units, self-driven machinery, breakbulk cargo, and other specialized equipment like mobile machinery.

This new route provides connectivity between key destinations in Northern and Western Europe, including Iberia, Ireland, the UK, Scandinavia, and the Northern Baltic region. To optimise efficiency, both companies will share freight loading equipment during the transhipment process.
