RoRo specialist Wallenius Wilhelmsen has expanded its fleet with the acquisition MV Porgy, a vessel previously owned by Wall Ro/Ro AB. The company added that the vessel has already been a valued member of its time charter fleet. Now it has been officially purchased and integrated into its fleet.

]Currently at IMC Shipyard in Zhoushan, China, Porgy is set for a 15-year dry docking next week with major sustainability upgrades: enhanced crew accommodations, state-of-the-art navigational equipment, and energy-efficient engine upgrades.

Additionally, Wallenius Wilhelmsen will install a CO2 firefighting system for top-notch safety.

“The acquisition of Porgy and the planned upgrades underscore our commitment to maintaining a modern, efficient, and sustainable fleet. We look forward to Porgy’s continued service under our flag, contributing to the strength and sustainability of our fleet,” said Fagerheim Geir, SVP Marine Operations.
