Nirint Shipping adds two multipurpose vessels to its fleet

PRESS RELEASE – Dutch shipping company Nirint Shipping has expanded its fleet with two 17,000 dwt multipurpose vessels, the Augusta Luna and Augusta Star. They will replace two container vessels on the company’s Europe- Caribbean-Canada-Europe Liner Service. 

The vessels are equipped with cranes and have a lifting capacity of up to 300 tonnes. They are strengthened for heavy cargoes and equipped for the carriage of containers and dangerous goods.

“The Augusta Luna and Augusta Star will be replacing the existing container vessels in our fleet, creating a new fleet of five multipurpose vessels of 17,000 dwt for our Europe- Caribbean-Canada-Europe Liner Service, enabling us to provide tailor-made solutions to our customers”, the company states.

The Augusta Luna was recently used for a special project, shipping The Ocean Cleanup Interceptor 004 to the Dominican Republic, where the special plastics collection barge will be used to prevent plastics from going into the ocean.
