Spanish logistics firm LASO played a critical role in Spain’s clean energy transition by transporting essential components for the new Stev Wind Farm.

The complex operation involved a dedicated team of LASO professionals from various departments, including sales, project management, driving, piloting, and even a reporting and photography team. Over three weeks, LASO delivered 50 wind turbine components, including tubes, nacelles, hubs, drives, and blades.

Challenges arose due to the need to collect components from various locations, including Aranda del Duero and Santander, necessitating meticulous planning and logistical coordination. Additionally, the summer heat posed a risk, requiring extra precautions like continuous monitoring of cargo condition to prevent fire.

LASO’s commitment to safety and efficiency shone through in their use of specialized equipment like hydraulically adjustable Power Adapters, which optimised the transportation of massive nacelles and tubes.

“We are extremely pleased with the success of this operation. It was an exemplary job of coordination between the teams and overcoming logistical challenges, achieved thanks to everyone’s dedication,” commented the project manager responsible for the service.
