The project cargo industry is grappling with unprecedented challenges as it seeks to meet the demands of the burgeoning offshore wind sector and other megaprojects. The transportation of oversized and heavy components, such as wind turbine blades and substations, requires specialized equipment, infrastructure, and expertise.

Working with the right partners is a must to bring the mega projects over the line. There is a level of mastery in the art of mega logistics, and this year’s Project Cargo Summit will unpack the intricacies that make the supply chains challenging but also provide solutions to move forward.

In two separate sessions, Igor MuƱiz Tinoco, CEO of Erhardt Projects will cover the current challenges that renewable wind projects are facing in the current market landscape. In a session called “Logistics challenges and solutions for massive offshore components” MuƱiz Tinoco will also discuss potential solutions to the current challenges.

He will be joined by Olivier Dirkzwager, Segment Lead – Power and Forwarding Europe at Mammoet to discuss tight collaboration between all the stakeholders and links in the supply chain for the burgeoning offshore wind industry. Timely project completion often hinges on seamless collaboration. “Forging Ties at Seas” dives into the critical partnerships between project developers, owners, carriers, freight forwarders, and manufacturers. This discussion will explore how effective communication, strategic planning, and a commitment to shared goals can ensure that colossal turbines reach their destination on time and within budget, ultimately contributing to the swift and successful development of offshore wind farms.

However, once these giants at sea are assembled, the power needs to reach shore which brings its own set of challenges with large substations, platforms and transformers. The transformer industry is on the rise, however, moving these giants often in tight spaces on land, with weight restrictions and multiple regulatory hurdles and hoops to jump through, is a challenge within themselves.

So join us in Bilbao on September 17 and 18, for the Project Cargo Summit 2024, as we unpack the challenges and steer the industry towards sustainable solutions while taking advantage of a fair share of networking opportunities. Hurry up and complete your registration here.
