Hareket sets record by loading out De Transporter at Tersan Yalova Shipyard
The Turkish heavy lifting and project transportation company, Hareket, set a record in Turkey, by loading out De Transporter, a 10 350t ship, from a floating dock at Tersan Yalova Shipyard.
The heavy load carrier ship, which measures 180 metres in length and 27 metres in width, was moved 500 metres, within the shipyard area. Its transportation required the use of 317 axle trailers, and 12 power units. De Transporter is now the heaviest single-load transported on land, in Turkey.
Prior to this, in 2020, Harket moved two 6,200 t passenger ships, the Havila Capella and Havila Castor, 250 m to a floating dock, also at Tersan Shipyard. The ships also had to be moved 2 metres sideways. The equipment for this earlier endeavour included 56 Goldhofer PST/SL-E heavy-duty self-propelled modules, with hydrostatic drive and electronic multiway steering, in addition to 36 Goldhofer conventional THP/SL heavy-duty modules. This took four days in total.
