Mammoet brings Transformers to the roads of Texas
No, these images are not a scene from the new Transformers movie, but they surely do show how Optimus Prime would look like hauling project cargo. In reality, is is the Dutch heavy lift and abnormal loads specialist Mammoet transporting a pair of transformers across Texas, USA.
In a brief statement through its social media channels, Mammoet said its crews received the two transformers, weighing 159 tons each in Freeport, Texas. The transformers were then loaded to trailers with dollies, which were necessary in order to cross the bridges along the approximately 72 kilometre route.
Mammoet teams in Mexico and USA assisted with logistics throughout the project and decided to transport both transformers simultaneously to increase cost savings and efficiency. Ultimately, the ~9m long transformers were delivered successfully to their destination.
Looking at the images, it is a feet even Optimus Prime would be proud of.
