The Chinese-Polish Joint Stock Shipping Company, Chipolbrok, placed a new order at the Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries (ZPMC) for two 38,000-dwt heavy-lift multipurpose (MPP) vessels. The order includes an option for two additional vessels.

The signing of the shipbuilding contracts that took place in the ZPMC offices not only marks the start of cooperation but also marks the shipbuilder’s entry into the heavy-lift MPP sector.

The vessels ordered feature three 250-ton cranes, combineable to 500 tons. The ship features two extra-long cargo holds with a maximum length of 76.8 meters and a fully open deck, suitable for loading and transporting large machinery, equipment, and project cargo.

The vessels also feature adjustable tweendecks, offering flexibility to load equipment and project cargo of various sizes. The vessels feature a host of eco-friendly solutions such as energy-saving devices and high-voltage shore power systems, as well as a streamlined design aimed at reducing energy consumption and cutting emissions.

Designed with sustainability in mind, Boym meets the Phase 3 EEDI and Tier III NOx emission standards.

Since 2021, Chipolbrok has successfully deployed five other 62,000-ton vessels on liner routes to North America, Europe, South America, Australia, and New Zealand. These ships have handled a variety of projects, including the transportation of complete sets of wind power equipment. These vessels are Taixing, Herbert, Pilecki, Yongxing and Yu’an.
