Global heavy lift specialist Sarens has been contracted to provide cranes and lifting equipment for the construction of a new Paralympic stadium in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The facility is being built to host the upcoming Para-Asian Youth Games in 2025.

The project, undertaken in partnership with client CAMCE, commenced in August 2023 and is expected to be completed by April 2024. Despite challenging winter weather conditions, Sarens has successfully deployed its equipment to lift and install metal fittings for the stadium’s construction. The company provided two 60-tonne cranes, one 30-tonne crane, and a 38-metre boom lift.

The winter conditions have been a major challenge as recent temperatures of -15°C made it very difficult to start the crane engines.

The Paralympic stadium is anticipated to attract around 1,000 athletes and their supporters, contributing to a boost in tourism and economic activity for Tashkent.
