Wallenius Wilhelmsen made a series of executive changes aimed at accelerating its transition to a sustainable and digital future. The decisions are in line with the ambition of President and CEO Wallenius Wilhelmsen, Lasse Kristoffersen to make Wallenius Wilhelmsen a data-driven company.

“We are increasingly becoming a partner to our customers on their entire finished product supply chain, enabling them to transform towards an emission-free and digital future. To make sure we are able to both grow and transform in a sustainable, digital way, we are now strengthening the Group Executive Management with a new role, Chief Strategy and Corporate Development Officer. Mike Hynekamp, currently COO Logistics, will take on this role as of August of this year. At the same time, SVP Vehicle Services Americas (VSA), John Felitto, will become Chief Operating Officer Logistics Services,” said Kristoffersen.

As its first step, the company has created a new role, Chief Strategy and Corporate Development Officer, which will be filled by the current COO of Logistics, Mike Hynekamp. Hynekamp will be responsible for driving the company’s strategic initiatives and digital transformation.

John Felitto, previously SVP of Vehicle Services Americas, has been appointed as the new COO Logistics Services. Felitto brings extensive experience in the logistics industry and a proven track record of growth and business development.

He began at Wallenius Wilhelmsen in July 2001 as Vice President-Sales and has since held various key roles in sales, ocean and logistics. Felitto played a vital role in the company’s shift from ocean carrier to full-service logistics provider. Currently, he oversees all aspects of Vehicle Services Americas operations in the USA, Mexico, and Canada, where VSA employs 5000 people at 31 locations and handles over 5.5 million vehicles annually.

These leadership changes underscore Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s commitment to delivering integrated supply chain solutions and reducing its environmental impact. The company said it aims to leverage digital technology and data analytics to optimize operations, enhance customer experiences, and contribute to a more sustainable future.
