Kuehne+Nagel appoints new managing director for its Japan office

Global logistics giant Kuehne+Nagel has appointed Yutaka Matsuyoshi as Managing Director for its Japan operations, effective August 1, 2024. Matsuyoshi brings a wealth of experience in the supply chain and logistics industry to his new role, having held leadership positions in various regions including Japan, the UK, Hong Kong, China, and Switzerland.

Prior to joining Kuehne+Nagel, Matsuyoshi spent nine years at adidas, where he was responsible for global logistics. His subsequent role as Global Head of Operations at Kuehne+Nagel’s headquarters in Switzerland provided him with extensive experience in digital transformation and complex supply chain management.

Matsuyoshi succeeds Cedric Dulong who will now focus on the company´s Japan Development Program aiming to expand Japan’s role in international commerce.

Commenting on his appointment Matsuyoshi said, “Together, we will put a focus on better understanding the challenges our Japanese customers face today, especially in these volatile times. This will help us to further enhance our offerings with an emphasis on customer needs. I look forward to leveraging my experience to its fullest extent to ensure we build long-term partnerships with our customers in Japan.”

As part of its Roadmap 2026, Japan is an important strategic growth market for Kuehne+Nagel. The Japan Development Program aims to drive business growth among Japanese corporations, both domestically and internationally. Kuehne+Nagel has appointed Mitsuhiro Inaba as Director of Sales and Marketing for Japan, effective from August 1, and Kenzo Yamada as Director of Air Logistics for Japan, effective from September 1, in order to strengthen its partnerships with Japanese customers. These appointments demonstrate Kuehne+Nagel’s commitment to expanding its presence in the Japanese market.
