Liebherr Logistics, an intra-group logistics service provider has partnered up with the Rotterdam-based Broekman Logistics on a first new location in the Netherlands. Liebherr Logistics currently supplies 70 sales companies and their worldwide customers with spare parts from 12 Liebherr production companies. It operates its own highly automated logistics centre with 46,400 sqm at the company’s headquarters in southern Germany.

In order to support its global expansion strategy with additional warehouse locations and to strengthen and optimise its supply chains accordingly, Liebherr partnered up with Broekman Logistics.

With this agreement, Broekman Logistics will become an extension of Liebherr’s supply chain in Western Europe, offering a range of logistics and warehousing services from its strategically located facilities in Born, Limburg, the Netherlands. The company’s partnership includes customs clearance, warehousing, picking and packing of Liebherr spare parts. In the second phase, the partnership will be extended to kitting of products and sea & airfreight activities.

Broekman Logistics bring the personal touch

“Our central location in the Limburg region, the multimodal transport options and the proximity to Liebherr’s end markets enables us to optimally execute the supply chain for Liebherr’s spare parts business,” Ron Kuijpers, Director of Business Development Broekman Logistics, said.

Joerg Stroebele, Managing Director Liebherr adds, “This is for Liebherr a first-time cooperation project with a 3PL, for which we have been looking for a trusted and experienced partner who is thinking along with us during the entire process. Broekman’s personal touch will provide us an optimised supply chain, enabling us to increase the service to our clients.”

New Focus

This new partnership is a direct result of Broekman Logistics’ refined strategy, focussing on the Agricultural & Construction Machinery & Spare Parts market in which it offers asset-based value-added logistics services for its clients. There is a rapidly increasing demand for outsourcing of these services. Also, because Broekman provides technical services in addition to traditional logistics solutions.

Rik Pek, CEO Broekman Logistics concludes, “We are proud that Liebherr has given us the confidence being their partner of choice for an essential part of their supply chain. It perfectly fits in our mission to look beyond and simplify the logistics challenges for our clients.”
