Wagenborg sets up new shipping agency in Sweden
Dutch maritime logistics company Wagenborg has kicked off shipping agency operations in Sweden, starting January 1. Wagenborg Agencies Sweden will provide full agency services in all Swedish ports, the company said.
The company dubbed the expansion of agency services to Sweden as a valuable addition to its network of serviced ports. The main focus of the Swedish agency office will be the northern ports such as Karlsborg, Luleå, Haraholmen and Skellefteåhamn. In addition, agency services can be provided in all other Swedish ports from north to south. On a yearly basis about 300 port calls can be expected in these ports.
Wagenborg’s Swedish team consists of shipping agents Viktor Ivarsson and Fred Sternå. They will primarily service Wagenborg vessels in Sweden including the roro vessels Balticborg and Bothniaborg.
Commenting on the move, Ivarsson and Sternå said, “Wagenborg used to outsource the agency services in Sweden. Now we will do that ourselves. In addition, other ships can also contact us with their port calls.”
In close cooperation with Wagenborg Shipping Sweden in Malmö and Wagenborg Agencies Terneuzen Viktor and Fred will also book southbound cargo onto these roro ships.
Wagenborg Agencies also services several European ports from their branch offices in Tarragona, Algeciras and Ceuta (Spain), Kotka/Hamina (Finland) and Delfzijl, Eemshaven, Rotterdam region, Amsterdam region and Terneuzen region (the Netherlands).
