The latest addition to United Heavy Lift’s F900 Eco-Lifter fleet, the UHL Fable has been very active since its delivery. Its most recent task has taken the heavy-lift multipurpose vessel to Australia.

The UHL Fable delivered the new Liebherr LPS 550 rail-mounted portal crane to Australian Amalgamated Terminals (AAT). “The crane is fully assembled and will be commissioned by Liebherr over the next two to three weeks. The crane is expected to be fully operational in early November 2024,” AAT said.

AAT will soon have two LPS 550 rail-mounted slewing cranes, each with a 144-ton capacity (or 230 tons in dual-lift mode), and one Pacific 2000 STS crane. This additional crane will enhance AAT’s capabilities, improving vessel productivity and reducing turnaround times at the Fisherman Islands facility.

The UHL Fable

The UHL Fable was built at the CSSC Hudong shipyard in Shanghai. UHL It is an updated version of the seventeen F900 multipurpose heavy-lift vessels delivered between 2019 and 2022. The new and enhanced F900x Eco-Lifter class features high- and low-pressure SCR catalysts to meet IMO Tier III requirements.

The UHL Fable, like her sister vessel UHL Fresh, can also be fuelled with biodiesel, which makes the operation of the main engine climate-neutral.
