Huisman books KBC order from Coatal International Marine

Huisman, a global leader in offshore lifting solutions, has signed its first contract with Coastal International Marine (CIM) for the delivery of a deepwater Knuckle Boom Crane (KBC).

CIM, a subsidiary of the Malaysian energy infrastructure solutions provider Coastal Contracts, will receive a 100-tonne capacity KBC equipped with a deepwater winch and advanced active heave compensation technology.

Optimised design for offshore wind subsea construction

This order represents the second contract for Huisman’s recently launched optimized KBC series. These innovative cranes are specifically tailored for the demands of the offshore subsea construction market. The optimized design emphasizes enhanced energy efficiency, advanced automation capabilities and improved safety features

The KBC can also be delivered with an optional fully electric configuration featuring Huisman’s patented electrical integration technology for seamless compatibility with a vessel’s battery banks.

Building on success and expanding client base

This follows a similar order in March for a 100-tonne KBC destined for a Japanese construction company’s new cable-lay and construction vessel.
